Bleeding Cool is reporting this may be the case. Our friend and former DC President Paul Levitz had always been vocal about not allowing any such projects to surface, despite the falling out between DC and Alan Moore. This bit of artistic integrity did not extend to the creation of the feature film adaptation, but Levitz made sure the story stayed in tact and no major changes were made (except for the giant squid, of course.) Now that Dan DiDio is at the reins, it seems turning a major profit on DC's greatest selling book is priority number 1!I sense a train wreck coming and can already hear the geeklings in their hobbit caves sharpening their double edged axes.
